HELP NEEDED! - PMP HELPERS
The Tui Syndicate runs a PMP programme on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9.00am – 12.30pm and we need 3-4 helpers each time. If you could spare some time this term to help out we would greatly appreciate it – pre-schoolers are welcome to join in the fun!
SWIMSTATION SWIM SCHOOL
This year we are offering swimming lessons to all our students through Swimsation Swim School.
We cannot stress how important swimming lessons are for all children. New Zealand is an island nation and we are no more than 40 minutes from a beach, river, lake or stream. A lot of our recreational activities are water-based and being able to swim will ensure that your child can safely be part of the fun.
These lessons are free for all year 3-6 students; unfortunately funding was not available for junior classes. We have organised a very competitive rate for the junior syndicate lessons of $36.00 for 8 lessons.
The instructors will assess the children over the first two lessons to ensure that all swimmers are in the correct group for their ability level. Each ability level will have their own Swimsation instructor in the water with them (3 instructors per classroom). If your child currently attends swimming lessons after school hours, these lessons will assist them to improve skills being learnt elsewhere and will progress at a faster rate through doing extra lessons each week.
Children participating will need to wear appropriate swimwear, (rash shirt or wet suits permitted) and hair tied up if long. Goggles and swimming caps are encouraged but are optional. Permission slips have been sent home: if your child has not received one please come to the office.
