At Dominion Road School - He Maunga Teitei, we support students to develop an understanding of the different maths strands that is both meaningful and culturally responsive.  Our Maths programme is underpinned by the Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities (DMIC) pedagogy, based on the research undertaken by  Roberta Hunter from Massey University.

Oral language is a critical component of Maths and we prioritise the unpacking of specific maths vocabulary to help set our students up for success as mathematical thinkers and problem solvers.
